If you would like to build a wall, a non-vision area component of your commercial building envelope, this is the place to do it.
A non-vision area in the Wall System app is calculated using the methodologies outlined in NZS 4214:2006 - Methods of Determining the Total Thermal Resistance of Parts of Buildings and AS/NZS 4859.2:2018 - Thermal insulation materials for buildings (Part 2: Design). Using the Wall System app, you can create an NCC Performance Solution for your project very quickly.
Step 1 - After you have created a Team and Project, access the Wall Systems App from the Dashboard or Studio and click Create Wall System. Select a Project and give your Wall System a name.
Step 2 – Layouts are either generic are supplied by a supplier. Either option is a great place to start. You can also filter all Wall Layouts for your specific requirements. Alternatively, you can create your own. Let’s use a generic template and the example using the ‘Lightweight Cladding (Cavity fixed to 92mm steel frame)’.
Step 3 - Once you have selected the Lightweight Cladding (Cavity fixed to 92mm steel frame), the next step is to add your preferred materials. At first, you are presented with generic materials for all Material layers. Within each material layer, simply add a product by clicking on the generic material and find the most suitable product for your project. If you want to adapt a template, you can move and delete material layers using the arrow icon and add additional layers using the ‘Add Material Layer’ button.
Step 4 - Once you have added a product to all material layers, you will see results on the right-hand side of the screen, with additional NCC 2019 – Vol 1 guidance to tell you if you have met the Performance Requirements. The sliding results bar illustrates if you are on track.
Step 5 - Finish up by clicking on the Performance Solution button, and you can down your NCC 2019 - Vol1 compliance report.
