Understanding Thermal Bridging within Roof Systems for the NCC 2019 – Vol 1 has never been easier. Our Roof System app is calculated using the methodologies outlined in NZS 4214:2006 - Methods of Determining the Total Thermal Resistance of Parts of Buildings and AS/NZS 4859.2:2018 - Thermal insulation materials for buildings (Part 2: Design). Using the Roof System app, you can create an NCC Performance Solution for your project very quickly.
Step 1 – Let’s first reuse the Roof System we created in the Roof Systems Tutorial 1 – Getting Started video - Suspended Slab (Internally Insulated).
Step 2 – Adjusting a Roof System thermal bridging elements could not be easier. Let’s first change a few details of this roof to show this example more clearly.
Step 3 – Next … Simply navigate the material layers and select the insulation layer. Here you will find access to additional features that enable you to change the properties of your roof in line with NZS 4214:2006. Let’s select a steel purlin to account for thermal bridging.
Step 4 – When your happy, simply click Performance Solution and download your Performance Solution Report.
