If you would like to build a floor, this is the place to do it.
Our Floor System app is calculated using the methodologies outlined in NZS 4214:2006 - Methods of Determining the Total Thermal Resistance of Parts of Buildings and AS/NZS 4859.2:2018 - Thermal insulation materials for buildings (Part 2: Design). Where applicable, our Floor System app uses CIBSE Guide A for subfloors, as per J1.6 Floors – Table J 1.6.
Step 1 - After you have created a Team and Project, access the Floor Systems App from the Dashboard or Studio and click Create Floor System. Select a Project and give your Floor System a name.
Step 2 - Layouts are either generic are supplied by a supplier. Either option is a great place to start. You can also filter all Floor Layouts for your specific requirements. Alternatively, you can create your own. Let’s use a generic template and the example using the ‘Slab-On-Grade’.
Step 3 - Once you have selected the Slab-On-Grade, the next step is to add your floor substrate by using the ‘Add Subfloor’ button.
Step 4 - Once you are in the subfloor area, go ahead and add your Ground Type, Perimeter of Exposed Floor, Floor Area of the floor. These considerations will impact your requirements to insulate your floor. The greater the Floor Area/Perimeter of Exposed Floor, the less likely it will be to need to insulate when adjacent to the ground.
Step 5 - Next up … determine the Surrounding Wall configuration and then click ‘Add’.
Step 6 - Finish up by clicking on the Performance Solution button, and you can down your NCC 2019 - Vol1 compliance report.
