The Speckel JV Thermal Comfort app is a very quick and easy workflow to enable high-level feedback on three primary areas relating to the Performance Solution Verification Pathways JV1: NABERS Energy for Offices, JV2: Green Star or JV3: Verification using a reference building. The three areas are:
- A comparison of Reference Building and Proposed Building energy consumption
- The inclusion of solar photovoltaic (PV) strategy
- The assessment of thermal comfort as per NCC 2019 - PMV requirements
The JV Thermal Comfort app provides both detailed and concept modes, enabling high-level geometry, glazing to wall ratios and building fabric design to be used within the assessment to generate zoned outcomes for energy and comfort.
The JV Thermal Comfort App will be integrated into the Building Assessment App in May, 2021.
Step 1 – Navigate to the Studio area, select JV Thermal Comfort app and apply it to a project.
Step 2 – Next step… within the Geometry area, design your floor plate for the building and apply your performance assumptions. Note, the floor plate is the same for all levels, but this will soon be updated.
Step 3 – Next, under Fabric, add performance assumptions for your roof and floor and the calculations will automatically start running
