When Speckel launched the ability to provide thermal and daylight simulations, our aim was mainly concept development and removing the hurdles of energy modelling.
As our abilities have grown alongside the skills and expectations of our users, we needed to find a robust way to provide more complex simulations.
This need was completed with the launch of moisture simulations, which could not be resolved in your browser or the service would be too slow.
As a result of the above, we have introduced Credits, purchased on the platform and allowed batch processing of large models on our secure server in a matter of minutes. So far, this service allows simulations 20 X faster than a local desktop simulation.
Credits are only required for large (> 10,000 m2 or 100 thermal zones) or complex simulations. Subject to model size and complexity, 1 or 2 Credits are typically used for an energy simulation, 2 to 4 Credits are typically used for a daylight simulation and 4 are used for a complex moisture simulation. They will also form the basis of our parametric feature, being released in early 2023.
